Being a proper tourist! (in Germany 17-21.7.2014)

Following really touristic attractions took place around Bavaria between 17-21.7.2014

I decided to be a good tourist and to go see some castles. King Ludwig II of Bavaria was a bit of a madman but some Germans still loved him. The problem for Ludwig was that he basically lived couple of hundred centuries too late because he did not posses the powers that kings used to have rather than being a constitutional monarch. Yet he managed to built a couple of castles before he was declared insane and to be honest those castles with all other money "wasting" cost him his crown and eventually life.

One of the castles was Castle Neuscwhanstein. Neuscwhanstein is also known to be the influence for Disney's logo and the castle in Sleeping Beauty. The castle itself was never finished and only one visitor visited the castle when Ludwig II was still alive, his mother. I also visited another a bit smaller castle, Hohenschwangau, that was not build by Ludwig but used by him. Here's some pictures. It was a rainy day so the pictures aren't the best.

It was totally worth the visit but for me it just convinced that humankind is nuts =) One word though, if you wanna go there you must prepare yourself for long queues no matter what day or if it rains or shines.

And talking about madness here's a couple of pictures from Dachau.

Please remember: We should forgive but not forget
